“It’s a hot chocolate kind of day.” Er… I WISH! Temperatures are still in the high 20s and I’m thinking about transforming this hot chocolate into an iced chocolate smoothie, which I guess would be perfect for those living in the southern hemisphere anyway!

It’s been a long time since I’ve celebrated Christmas or even exchanged gifts with friends and family. So this year, I decided to make a few treats for those who have stuck with me throughout the last 12 months. I was SO last minute. But hey, these are two great edible gift ideas that revolve around the holiday, winter season, featuring everyone’s favorite chocolate and the ingredient that makes season appropriate: peppermint.
天涼了! 來杯熱可可吧! 都已經12月底了，臺灣卻還維持二七、八度的高溫，一點冬天的氣息都沒有。根本就還是夏天來著，這種天氣來個比基尼、沙灘派對還差不多。請大家自行調整，把雪兒送給你們的熱巧克力粉加些冰塊打成可可冰沙唄。順便跟南半球的朋友們打聲招呼~
雪兒還滿喜歡聖誕節夢幻的感覺。今年特別準備了一些小禮物要送給親朋好友。其中一項就是這款獨特配方熱巧克力粉，而且還是聖誕節限定口味喔! 我們要相信氣溫會降下來的， 或許這份心意可以留到過年再享用!
I’ve seen countless mason jar ideas all over the internet and yes yes, I finally jumped on the bandwagon with my own homemade hot chocolate recipe in a jar.
I simply dressed up an easy hot chocolate mix into several jars, either recycled or bought at the dollar store. Printed out little tags, instructions, and tied it all together with some twine.
It took me several tries to finally tweak the proportions to my liking. I like my hot chocolate thick, creamy but not too sweet. Hence the lack of sugar. The sweetness only comes from the crushed candy canes and chocolate chips. If you find my recipe to be too bitter, add in about a ⅓ cup of powdered sugar.
This gift is so simple, great presentation and delicious. Just imagine curling up with a soft blanket with your laptop, cozying up with this hot chocolate just within reach…

- 4 tablespoons of powdered milk
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk/dark chocolates
- 2 tablespoons of crushed candy canes
- ½ cup of mini marshmallows
- Put each ingredients into a glass jar to create a layered effect.
- Make little tags or decorate accordingly.
- Open the lid and take out the marshmallows.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients.
- Pour cocoa mix into a cup and add 1 cup of water.
- Mix well, add marshmallows before serving.
